Consort Homes Makes Big Splash at Grand Opening of Carlton Glen Estates

Consort Homes Makes Big Splash at Grand Opening of Carlton Glen Estates

ST. LOUIS, April 17, 2011 –   Cars lined the streets.  Music filled the air.  Giant dice rolled and the drum whirled, offering the chance to win valuable prizes.  And in spite of unseasonably cold, blustery weather, the Kona Ice truck did a brisk business, handing out frozen treats to visitors, as Consort Homes hosted the gala Grand Opening of Carlton Glen Estates on April 16.

On hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Paul Lambi, Chamber of Commerce secretary Rose Lambi, and several other Wentzville dignitaries presented Consort Homes CEO Ken Stricker with a plaque, commending the firm for its confidence in the continued growth and desirability of the City.

In fact, Consort has made a significant investment at Carlton Glen, acquiring 300 generously proportioned homesites in the established development, with the intent of making the neighborhood its “flagship” community in Wentzville.

Decked Out for Grand Opening

Headlining the inaugural celebration are four gorgeous displays, representing two of the homebuilder’s most successful home collections, base priced from the [$140’s][$150’s] to $270’s during Grand Opening.  Adding to their visual appeal, the models have been beautifully appointed by Christy Stricker Interiors and Chandra Fessler Interiors.

One of nine upscale designs from Consort’s Heritage Series, the “Windsor” is a 3215-square-foot, central-staircase two-story with a standard 3-car garage.  This gracious 4-bedroom home is displayed with rich wood flooring, a study in lieu of the living room, and an open dining room.  The family room opens to the breakfast area and kitchen, with its premium cabinetry and granite-topped island and counters.

Upstairs, the Windsor features a large bonus room, surrounded by the lavish master suite and auxiliary bedrooms, all with walk-in closets.

Next door, the “Porter” is a split-bedroom Heritage ranch with more than 2100 square feet and an innovative spatial arrangement.  One bedroom is situated off the main foyer, and the adjoining bedroom is shown as a study, creating an ideal privacy space for houseguests and illustrating the flexibility of this unique floorplan.

The formal dining room and kitchen are centrally located, convenient to the great room and bayed breakfast area, and the luxurious owner’s retreat and additional bedroom are on the opposite side of the main level.  Another creative Consort touch, a “family foyer” off the standard 3-car garage offers closet space and direct access to the main-floor laundry.

The “Ashton” is charming two-story from the value-packed, 12-plan Hometown Series and showcases carriage-style garage doors, a formal living/dining room off the entry foyer, switchback central staircase, and wide-open family activity spaces extending the full width of the home at the rear.  Among the amenities displayed are wood flooring, a great room fireplace, 42” oak cabinets, an attractive new laminate material topping the kitchen island and counter surfaces – and on the upper level, a fourth bedroom in place of the standard bonus room.

Also a Hometown design, the “Covington” is a split-bedroom ranch with yet another inventive layout.   One of the three bedrooms is located off the foyer and buffered from the great room, kitchen, and breakfast room by a full bath.  The generous master suite and additional bedroom occupy the home’s opposite wing, and a handy mud/laundry room adjoins the garage.  Noteworthy options include ceramic tile floors in the kitchen/breakfast area, maple rouge cabinetry, and premium laminate on the countertops and work peninsula with overhang.

Already On Board at Carlton Glen

Checking out the displays during Grand Opening were Nicole and Adam Meyer, former O’Fallon residents, who proudly count themselves among Consort Homes’ first customers at Carlton Glen and plan to move into their new “Latimore” two-story in June.

When arrival of the Meyers’ twin boys made a larger home essential, this savvy young couple – both accountants – did exhaustive research online, visited numerous communities, and perused copies of New Home News-St. Louis before making their purchase decision.

The Meyers knew exactly what they wanted – an extremely open two-story, and Consort had the perfect floorplan.  “Consort included a lot more features that were options with other builders,” Adam noted, “and the ‘green’ factor made sense to us, too.”   His reference is to Consort Homes’ standing as the only volume builder in St. Louis to be 3rd-party-certified as 100 percent “green.”

As for the couple’s homebuilding experience, both give community sales manager Sherry Conroy rave reviews, describing her as “great to work with,” happy to adapt to their busy schedules, prompt with answers to their questions, and thorough on follow-up.

Fronting Highway Z, just south of Quail Ridge Park, Carlton Glen Estates consists of several villages radiating from a main parkway that defines the southern edge of the property and terminates at a scenic lake.  The recreational complex provides a community pool, opening for the season on Memorial Day weekend, cabana, and “tot lot” playground.

Shopping, restaurants, and major commuter routes are just minutes away, and resident youngsters attend top-ranked Wentzville schools.
