It’s time to buy your new home!
Permits for new homes jumped 49 percent in April, compared to same month last year, on the Missouri side of metro St. Louis.
The Home Builder Association of St. Louis also reported that permits for the first four months are running ran 36 percent over last year.
Builders have taken out permits for 1,081 new single-family homes so far this year, the association reported. “This month’s numbers are a good sign of the continued, gradual recovery our industry is making,” said Charlie Boyce, the association’s president.
More than half the new building is in St. Charles County, where 560 permits were issued in the first four months of the year. St. Louis County saw 219 new homes and Jefferson County saw 180.
